Kraft Search
A dense order book of live power prices

Market intelligence for senior power trading, quant and optimisation hires across European power markets.

Market intelligence

The register, answered against your desk. Before the search, or instead of it.

Use retained search when a bad senior hire is already showing in PnL and you need the whole European power market worked, fast and quietly.

Country-by-role pool sizes, how much of that pool is realistically movable, who has been absorbing talent and who has been losing it. Delivered as a written map you can take into a board meeting, not a verbal steer on a call.

How a retained search runs

We scope the desk and mandate, map the pool country by country, prioritise those in a genuine move-window, then manage outreach, interviews and closing against an agreed timeline.

01

Define the question

Where should this desk sit, who is it competing with for people, or is this role hireable at all. Different questions read the register differently.

02

Query the register

Pool sizes by country and role family, movement over the last year, and the routes people actually took to get where they are.

03

Write it down

A document with the numbers, the method behind them and the sample sizes, so it survives being forwarded to someone who was not on the call.

04

Walk it through

An hour to argue with the findings. The map is more useful once someone who knows your desk has pushed back on it.

What you get on a retained brief

Pool sizes, hiring flows, compensation bands and role profiles for your brief, drawn from Kraft Search’s live register of European power traders.

When retained works best

Senior Intraday, Day-Ahead, Balancing, Cross-Border, Algo and Asset-Backed Traders, plus lead quants and optimisers, where speed, discretion and transferability across GB and continental markets all matter.

What you can expect

“A build decision made on the size and shape of the actual pool rather than on where the last hire happened to come from.”

Short-term power hiring FAQs

Client questions on retained search

Do I have to run a search to buy this?

No. Some of it exists precisely so a desk can decide not to hire, or to hire somewhere else.

Where does the data come from?

A register built and maintained by us across ten European power markets, with a stated census method per market. Sample sizes are published alongside every figure.

How current is it?

It is maintained continuously and every figure carries the date it was counted. Where a sample is too small to be meaningful, it says so rather than showing a number.
